<p><strong>Why Your Role Matters</strong> </p> <p>At the YMCA, we believe in nurturing confidence, strength, and a sense of belonging in every child. As a Gymnastics Instructor, you help young athletes grow not only in their physical abilities but also in their courage, discipline, and self-expression. You will lead classes for students of all levels, teaching foundational body movement, coordination, and muscle development while creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment. This role also includes a dance component, allowing you to incorporate rhythm, musicality, and creative movement into your instruction—helping students develop grace, expression, and confidence in new ways. Through your guidance, students build self-confidence, improve coordination and flexibility, and discover the joy of mastering new skills—all within a welcoming community that encourages them to reach their fullest potential.</p> <p> </p>
<p>We are looking for individuals who are available to work evenings and weekends.</p>
<p><strong>How You Will Make an Impact?</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Plan and deliver engaging gymnastics classes for children ages 3–12, teaching age-appropriate skills such as chants, jumps, basic stunts, and dance routines </li> <li>Customize lessons to align with the developmental stage and skill level of each age group to ensure high engagement and progression </li> <li>Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that builds confidence, teamwork, and a sense of belonging among all participants </li> <li>Promote safety by teaching and modeling proper techniques, warm-ups, spotting methods, and injury prevention practices </li> <li>Prepare students for performances, community events, and showcases, coordinating choreography, attire, and event logistics </li> <li>Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the practice area and equipment, conducting regular safety checks </li> <li>Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the Program Director regarding student progress, class updates, and upcoming events </li> <li>Demonstrate leadership and professionalism, serving as a role model of sportsmanship, respect, and positivity. </li> <li>Serve as an ambassador for the organization, representing the YMCA positively to internal and external stakeholders, strengthening relationships and promoting the organization’s impact. </li> <li>Be the ultimate storyteller of the YMCA's work and culture, sharing compelling stories that highlight the YMCA's contributions and values to engage and inspire the community. </li> <li>Complete other duties as assigned, adapting to additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and organization’s goals, demonstrating flexibility and dedication. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What you bring to the Y: </strong> </p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 16 years old </li> <li>Dance and Gymnastics or cheer/tumbling background. </li> <li>Instructor experience preferred. </li> <li>You have current CPR and First Aid certifications preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of employment. </li> <li><strong>Growth Mindset: </strong>Learn and improve<strong> </strong>to better serve members and the mission. </li> <li><strong>Team Player: </strong>Work collaboratively with others and support a positive team environment. </li> <li><strong>Communicates Effectively: </strong>Listen actively and communicate clearly with members and peers. </li> <li><strong>Customer Focused:</strong> Anticipates needs and ensures quality, member-centered service. </li> <li><strong>Fosters Belonging:</strong> Ensure everyone feels welcomed, respected, and included. </li> </ul> <p> </p>
