Mechanical Engineer

<p><strong>Position Summary</strong> </p> <p>We are seeking a remote Mechanical Engineer with HVAC experience in residential and commercial systems to support our growing operations. This position is intended for a highly capable engineer based in the Philippines who is interested in long-term growth and specialization in Caribbean HVAC system design. The successful candidate will work closely with and be mentored by an experienced Bahamian mechanical engineer to learn local design requirements, construction practices, and equipment applications specific to the Bahamian market. The role is part of our initiative to build an internal engineering and estimating capability that supports projects using the HVAC and mechanical products we distribute. </p> <p><strong>Job Details</strong> </p> <ul><li>Work from home </li><li>Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Manila time</li><li>Will observe Philippine holidays </li></ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong> </p> <ul><li>Assist with HVAC system design for residential and commercial projects in The Bahamas </li></ul> <ul><li>Learn and apply engineering standards and practical design approaches for Caribbean environments </li></ul> <ul><li>Perform HVAC load calculations and equipment selections </li></ul> <ul><li>Prepare mechanical design drawings and specifications </li></ul> <ul><li>Produce shop drawings and as-built documentation </li></ul> <ul><li>Complete material takeoffs for estimating and bidding purposes </li></ul> <ul><li>Support proposal and bid preparation for upcoming projects </li></ul> <ul><li>Coordinate with field teams and project managers using site measurements and collected project data </li></ul> <ul><li>Recommend and specify equipment and hardware from manufacturers we represent </li></ul> <ul><li>Assist with technical submittals and project documentation </li></ul> <ul><li>Support ongoing engineering and operational improvement initiatives </li></ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong> </p> <p><strong>Required</strong> </p> <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field </li></ul> <ul><li>HVAC experience in residential and/or commercial applications </li></ul> <ul><li>Strong understanding of HVAC systems and equipment selection </li></ul> <ul><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software </li></ul> <ul><li>Strong communication and organizational skills </li></ul> <ul><li>Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment </li></ul> <ul><li>Reliable internet connection and suitable remote work setup </li></ul> <p><strong>Preferred</strong> </p> <ul><li>Plumbing design experience </li></ul> <ul><li>Experience performing material takeoffs and bid preparation </li></ul> <ul><li>Shop drawing experience </li></ul> <ul><li>Experience supporting construction or field coordination </li></ul> <ul><li>Revit or BIM experience </li></ul> <ul><li>Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and mechanical codes </li></ul> <ul><li>Experience working with international or outsourced engineering teams </li></ul>
