<h2>Role Purpose</h2> About this opportunity Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced and suitably qualified Electrician / Mechanical Fitter / Metal Fabricator to complete activities related to our Tram Condition Works Projects. This position is a great opportunity for a trade qualified and experienced Electrician / Mechanical Fitter / Metal Fabricator to actively assist our Condition Works Team in ensuring our Rolling Stock Projects are completed to agreed standards. Reporting to the Depot Operation Manager, Rolling Stock Projects the roles involve: <ul> <li>Performing Electrical / Mechanical and or Metal Fabrication tasks as allocated by the supervisor.</li> <li>Identifying non base trade related faults during inspection activities and advising the supervisor. </li> <li>Documenting and signing off all tasks performed in accordance with Yarra Trams processes.</li> <li>Providing advice on trade related issues as required.</li> </ul> About you To be successful in this opportunity, you will have: <ul> <li>Completed an apprenticeship as an Electrician / Mechanical Fitter or Metal Fabrication trade.</li> <li>Experience working in heavy project-based industries an advantage.</li> <li>Availability to work on a 7 day per week rotating roster, including day, afternoon, night, weekend and public holiday shifts.</li> <li>Experience in providing technical advice (Knowledge sharing) to other tradesmen.</li> <li>Experience overseeing the work of junior Staff (including apprentices).</li> <li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.</li> <li>An awareness and understanding of the OH&S and environmental risks that pertain to this role.</li> <li>A current Victorian Drivers Licence.</li> <li>Previous experience in a similar rolling stock maintenance environment is advantageous. </li> </ul> Applications close: 04 June 2026
